WELCOME TO RAFIKI.INFO

"Rafiki", the Swahili word for "friend" is an appropriate way to describe the essence of WA Surgical Mission - Tanzania.

Born from a desire to create fellowship and goodwill, the mission was established to work closely with Interplast Australia in its humanitarian venture to Africa.

RAFIKI DINNER 2007

This year’s event promises to be another outstanding occasion, with Dixie Marshall as MC and Daren McAullay hosting our auction. Three- course dinner accompanied by fine wines will be followed with entertainment from Daren Reid & The Soul City Groove. Table bookings have already exceeded previous records and the generosity of our sponsors will ensure an outstanding collection of auction items.

All proceeds raised will be allocated to WA Surgical Mission for the purpose of funding surgical missions to Tanzania.

The tremendous success of the Rafiki Dinners in 2004, 2005 and 2006 enabled West Australian Plastic Surgeons Tony Connell and Tony Baker, together with their medical teams, to travel to Tanzania in each of these years and perform operations on children with facial deformities and burns injuries. In 2006 WA Surgical Mission was able to send 2 missions to Tanzania to continue this tremendous work.
